There was a moment, roughly between the wars, when catching a train or boarding a ship felt like the beginning of something cinematic, and the posters on the station wall promised exactly that. Grand Voyage is our love letter to that era: the world's most beautiful places, rendered in the flat, confident, sun-drenched style of the golden age of travel.
The tradition we're drawing on
The great travel posters of the 1920s–50s, the work of artists like Roger Broders and A.M. Cassandre, weren't photographs. They were distillations: a coastline reduced to three colours, a mountain flattened into bold planes of light and shadow, a whole holiday compressed into one confident image. That restraint is why they still look modern a century later.
Every Grand Voyage print is built the same way:
- Flat lithographic colour, limited, harmonious palettes, not busy gradients.
- Bold, simplified composition, depth from shape and light, not clutter.
- A consistent frame, each poster sits on warm paper stock with its destination set beneath in a single elegant band, so the whole collection hangs together as one series.
Because the whole set shares one visual system, Grand Voyage prints look intentional side by side, three or four of them turn a blank hallway into a departures board for your favourite places.
Where we're going first
The opening set spans six destinations, each with its own palette pulled straight from the place itself:
| Destination | The feeling |
|---|---|
| Amalfi, Italy | pastel cliffs over a turquoise sea |
| Kyoto, Japan | vermilion pagoda in autumn maples |
| Santorini, Greece | white-and-blue domes at golden hour |
| Zermatt, Switzerland | the Matterhorn under crisp alpine light |
| Marrakech, Morocco | terracotta walls against the Atlas mountains |
| Provence, France | rows of lavender running to the horizon |

Made to actually live with
The art is only half of it. Every Grand Voyage poster is printed on the same 200 gsm matte paper as the rest of the catalogue: smooth, glare-free, and made to sit flat behind plexiglass. (More on paper in Paper Weight, Explained.)
Building a gallery wall? Pick destinations that share a palette, Amalfi, Santorini and Provence read as a cool-toned "Mediterranean" trio, while Kyoto and Marrakech make a warm, spice-toned pair.
