Bearded Iris

Celebrate botanical elegance with this hand-coloured illustration of the Bearded Iris (Iris germanica). This antique-style plate captures the deep violet-purple petals, intricate ruffled falls, and vibrant green sword-shaped leaves of the Iris germanica in stunning period detail.

Upon the garden bed the royal petals bloom, Beneath the summer sun they banish every gloom. The bearded Iris germanica stands so tall, Its purple velvet dress will surely charm us all. Beside the opening bud the sword-like leaves arise, A silent beauty captured for our weary eyes. With artistry of old the floral portrait glows, As wisdom of the earth in every petal shows.
